Cultural Center Celebrates 10 Marvelous Years

Generoso Pope Foundation Tuckahoe David Foyer

The Westchester Italian Cultural Center is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary this year. The one-of-a-kind center opened it’s doors in 2007 and has welcomed tens of thousand of people ever since. The center (WICC) is located in the charming Village of Tuckahoe, NY. This beautiful center, the largest in the nation, is in a grand 10,000+ square foot building, which was formerly Tuckahoe Village Hall. Various rooms include exhibit rooms, a wine cellar, a library, a dining room, lecture hall and a full state-of-the-art kitchen. The center offers various programs and events, including language courses, cooking classes, lectures, movie screenings and special events.

AJ Pope, the new Director of Programs at the WICC, is excited for what is to come. “We truly believe we are at the dawn of a new era for the center, a ‘Renaissance’ if you may.” A new, long list of benefits for the Members was just introduced and enhance the overall experience. Access to genealogy research software, more discounts on events, free movie screenings and even a discount at the Westchester Broadway Theater are available for Members. “What better way to celebrate our center than to thank our loyal members with new benefits,” AJ Pope said.

The staff says they have been listening to the WICC’s Members and have been taking into consideration what programs and changes they would like to see. “Our Members love to socialize,” Lindsay Brewster, Director of Membership said. “They will stay for thirty, even fourty-five minutes after a lecture just to talk and enjoy each other’s company. That’s why we are introducing our social events. Whether it’s a dancing night, wine and paint session or even a Single’s night, we really think our members will enjoy this new series of events.”

Another new aspect of the center will be facilities rentals. Members will be able to host their own private parties in the center’s beautiful building. “When people walk through our doors, their response is always ‘wow,'” Diane Pisera, Director of Communications and Public Relations, said. “Whether it’s a Sweet 16, corporate gathering or even a private wine tasting, our gorgeous building is the perfect venue for any event.”
