Pope Foundation Donates Use of Technology to Help Combat COVID-19

The Generoso Pope Foundation’s office may be closed due to the state mandated non-essential business closure related to COVID-19, but it’s people are still lending a helping hand to the surrounding community. David Anthony Pope, President & CEO of the Generoso Pope Foundation, has donated the use of the Foundation’s Ozone Sanitizing machines to Eastchester Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The two machines that are being used have technology that effectively sanitizes, deodorizes, and destroys bacteria, viruses, fungi, allergens, and other odor-causing agents. Ozone (O3) is often used as a safe (FDA and EPA approved) but very powerful disinfectant (3,000 times faster than bleach). One machine allows personal protective equipment to be disinfected, while another machine is portable, allowing the medical staff to sanitize the ambulances.

Jude Valerioti, President of Eastchester EMS commented, “What we have been having a problem with is getting the type of chemical to go into the ambulance and sanitize the ambulance. Right now we were down to wiping the ambulance down. This, will do a thorough job, completely. I want to thank David for bring us to light of this. It is an amazing device.” With this use of technology, emergency workers will help to #FlattenTheCurve of this virus.
