Saint Pio Relics Showcased at the Pope Foundation

The Saint Pio Foundation held a private event at the Generoso Pope Foundation on September 19, 2019. Maestro Luciano Lamonarca, President & CEO of the Saint Pio Foundation, opened with the history of Saint Pio and the importance of his work and legacy.

Special guests in attendance included 2016 Presidential Candidate & Former US Senator, Rick Santorum, and CNN Political Commentator & Former Westchester County Executive, Rob Astorino. Guests in attendance were able to see up close Saint Pio’s relics, including his gloves, crusts of the wounds, cotton gauze with blood stains, his lock of hair, and his handkerchief soaked with sweat hours before he died.

The overarching goal of the Saint Pio Foundation is to promote the awareness of Saint Pio and his charism nationally and internationally by working with institutions ​and ​​individuals who share the same vision to serve “those in need of relief of suffering.” Funds raised by the Saint Pio Foundation are used to provide grants to Catholic healthcare, educational, social, religious, and cultural partner organizations. As partners, they use their facilities and influence to advance the public’s knowledge of the legacy and importance of Saint Pio.
